PARIAH PETE
BIO
aka “Pariah like Mariah with a P” is a one of one artist best known for his propensity to cultivate community. Whether shown from his onstage rapport with his audience to hand delivering tickets all over Phoenix, his thesis is to connect. His lyrics are a vulnerable tell all– making his talented band “The Mercuries” melodic additions the perfect pairing. Inspired by the old and new, Pete has been influenced by Kendrick Lamar, Erykah Badu, and Gil Scott-Heron to name a few. With this, alongside the help from his live band, he has placed himself in the unique position to co-exist alongside acts of Hip-Hop, Indie, Psychedelic, and Soul music.
The past few years have proven to be explosive in terms of growth for Pariah Pete. His dedicated fans showed up for 7 sold-out headlining shows. He was booked to open for Doja Cat, Earthgang, Phonyppl, and Brainstory to name a few. As for festivals, he performed at ZONAFEST alongside Beach House, TV Girl, Japanese Breakfast, and Chicano Batman (+many more) and headlined the Arizona Hip Hop Festival two years in a row. Out of state shows included California, New Mexico, and Colorado. Phoenix New Times wrote up a profile piece on the artist, and soon after was rated "Best Hip Hop/R&B Act" by Phoenix Magazine. He was hand selected by Pigeons & Planes to perform at The Van Buren with Earthgang. Buffalo Exchange co-signed Pariah Pete’s first band-produced track and summer anthem, "Sunkissed". His songs “Take Ur Time”, “The Finest”, and “Sunkissed” were all featured on 98.3FM, 101.1FM, and 101.5FM.
Pete is based in Phoenix, Arizona where he started writing music at just 9 years old. Raised by an immigrant single mother and being a first-generation Polish, most would be surprised to know his earliest memory is of 50 Cent's "In Da Club". It contrasted the jazz that was frequently played throughout the house by his mother, which would later become an important influence for his own music. As of late, Pete’s priority has been on recording music alongside his band. He started 2023 hitting the ground running with a performance at the Marquee Theatre supporting Katastro on February 3rd. In May, he was invited to the Youtube Music HQ in NYC, to play some songs off his upcoming EP. And has a new single “Tropicana” set to release on August 25. The stars are aligning for yet another exciting year in the world of Pariah Pete.
